Hi,I recently rebooted my computer and the Breeze broadband software was taken with it. I have it over three years but the software disc was never given to me when it was installed in the first place. I was wondering would anybody be able to help me in trying to get it working again without the software or is this possible. Im not in a situatoin where i can pnone up and ask for the software to be sent out. Greatful for any help To shift these adverts please or log in! You must have an be to affix anyway :-) You don't need software for blow ( the one on your cover) . You do be to experience what IP communicate/mask/gateway they assigned to you though. What software? All you need to experience is your IP subnet gateway and DNS servers. I got that on a piece of paper when they installed it. No software. I found that sheet of cover but the numbers arent filled in on the pelt. First off all congratulations to a fabulous uptime (3 years). Unless you comfort have the settings in your machine you're exceed off contacting IBB. Why would a reboot remove your network settings? Apologies my hard drive was formatted. Im not that up on computers. But it looks as though i will need to contact them though im afraid. Am not too impressed that the details on the sheet were not filled in when it was first installed especially after it taking so desire to find the bloody thing That makes more comprehend. Anyway. I agree they should have written those details down. Is the breeze system not on CAT5 ethernet? If you're connected that way your network properties box should furnish the address of the modem and from there you should be able to access the modem itself. Sorry if I'm on the wrong track but I can't see how you could lose settings in the way you describe. Is your network adapter working after the re-install? "Broadband help, but at a cost" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-17 17:32:23

The UK's first helpline dedicated to solving broadband problems has been launched it's being billed as the first 'broadband recovery operation' but at a whopping £6.99 per month. Whilst some broadband issues can be frusting nearly all of them are relatively simple to solve and if you do need to contact a technician your ISP should cause. A few pounds a week is an outrageous price to charge for just talking to someone on the phone there's no actual remote give offered here. Whilst some businesses might benefit domiciliate users don't pay much more than £6.99 for basic broadband access why should we add a third or half again to our monthly bill. If broadband woes are so common that businesses desire can get off the ground then ISPs simply aren't doing enough to be after their customers.
