Question/Problem:My computer is infected with some type of malware. I undergo current / up to date virus software running as well as Adaware. They are catching cram and removing it but my computer is still having these issues:-It runs very slow-When I am on the internet it has a object of its own. Many pop ups come up including various advertisements and scams trying to get me to scan my computer. Also when I google something and try to click on one of the links given it ordain take me to other random sites instead of the one that I am trying to go to. I do not know what to do. Everything I read tells me to run a program like Adaware but I am and it is still happening. Do I need to manually remove these files? If so how do I find them? Or would it be enough to uninstall and instal windows? Or will these bad things just transfer back in in the files that I approve up and then reload?Operating System and VERSION: Windows XPWeb Browser and VERSION: Internet Explorer 7Your level of experience: IntermediateDuration of problem: 2 monthsAny steps you've taken to troubleshoot? Just running my antivirus / anti malware programs You should do a number of things to deal with this. First undo from being online and do a complete cleanout of your temporary file cache. Do this from control Panel not from IE7.. under Performance and Maintenance you should see an option 'free up data' on your hard drive and clean out ALL the cached temporary files. Then do an antivirus examine and an adware scan (Noadware v5 can be good for this though there are others you might try. If you don't undergo it dload it on a different computer then lay it on the problem one). You may also want to lay a seperate browser (Firefox for example) to the system and see if you are having the same problem under both browsers. Spybot search and undo for your malware as come up. Clear out your Temp Internet folders and temp folders. The temp internet folder can be cleared through IE but your TEMP folders have to be manually cleared out. I haven't found a button perhaps that's what unquietsoul5 is telling you to do. I'm not sure. Learn about the command "msconfig". Use it and go through your startup items as well as your services. If you see anything that you don't know that's starting up explore it's exe and find out if it's bad or good. Hi there! From 's :Q: My computer seems to be infected with a virus. How can I remove it? (OR)Q: My computer does not have antivirus protection. What should I do?Any computer connected to the internet or not should undergo a strong antivirus software solution running at all times to maintain data security. We reccomend the following software. Choose the program that beat fits your needs.# Avast Antivirus# Grisoft AVG# Norton Antivirus Trial (you must purchase this product after the trial ends).# Q: My computer seems to be running slower than I bequeath. What can I do? (OR)Q: My computer seems to be infected with spyware. What can I do to remove it?A: Luckily there exists free software to aid in the removal of spyware and adware. Try the following easy-to-use applications to irradicate the malicious software. Note that if you are using certain programs like Kazaa they might not function after running these utilities because these programs rely on the spyware to create there revenue. Removing the spyware from your system usually violates the software's End User License Agreement.# Lavasoft AdAware Personal# Spybot examine & Destroy# HiJack This!Note: if you visit the compose page you can find the links to the software. The schedule ckline recommended. Avast Antivirus is an excellent program.. best yet the home edition is completely free; providing you register it after the trial period to acquire a serial number. Another option I forgot to mention (another freebie!) try running Panda Activescan. It ordain remove viruses but it will not shift spyware. However it will tell you what spyware you do have and provide instructions for removal ckline also suggested running Hijack This as come up... Again do a examine and post the log here for us all to see what you undergo going on. Sounds like the Adwhores enticed you into accepting some "must have" freebee and you've been bundled with Adware/Spyware. First off the perps doing system infestations for fees alter thousands a day from companies desire Zango/180Solutions etc. So even if you have Norton or other Virus/Adware/Spyware suites they experience how to disable/Throttle the realtime protections of most popular programs while doing their dirty deeds. 90% of all so called Anti-what-ever programs are just false fronts for the Adware infestation groups to capture your credit card info with some worthless free scan. I posted at some of the best legit remove Anti- whatever programs and some steps to keeping your web surfing safer. ( Wearing "walk rubbers" is optional)First off you'll see a link to a site run by Facetime Communications for a realtime online examine... Do this first assuming your other Adware/Spyware tools are temporarily being strangled. Good idea is to immediately update the Badware profiles of Ad-Aware. SpyBot S&D while doing the scan. After running this quick scan-clean operation reboot into the Windows Safe Mode with networking option. Run the updated Anti-virus ( AVG is a good one if you need free) for backdoor trojan viruses as these try to re-install the Adware upon normal kick. Then Run Ad-Aware-SpyBot or the best choice Microsoft OneCare or Defender in safe mode to pull the Adware weeds out of your system. I've cleaned hundreds of systems for clients this way for years. Seldom do the infestation perps actually get you with a deep embedded Rootkit turning your system into a remote controlled Zombie Bot. Those come from crawling in bed with thieves on the file sharing sites installing screensavers. Ringtones and searching for freebees without www siteadvisor com installed to inform out the Red infestation sites. Browse www stopbadware org for current Adware exploits and database of blacklisted sites. All problems seem to disappear if you buy Microsoft OneCare unless you fall for social engineered Adwhore pitches desire Windows messanger spam. AIM e-mail links and those bouncing "Your system is Infected" get remove scan popup banners. Get 2 friends and split the 49.95 cost to split it 3 ways/year. Install good for protecting 3 XP/Vista systems.

So I bought my computer from Alien drop back in October of 05. When it came to me at first it wouldn't turn on so I mailed it approve and they mailed me another in like January. When I finally got it I think it worked book for a while. Though in the measure year it crashes desire twice a day. I undergo no roll why and do not experience much about computers so I guess I really move tell anyone much about it. I have tried calling transfer drop about this like 3 times in the measure year and all of them just tell me to put in the windows disks and reformat this does not work so I am egest of calling them. From a recent come down today the screen turns blue and it tells me something desire a NSVP.04 or something is doing a memory cast aside. This has happened a few times but mainly when I am playing World of Warcraft the computer ordain just freeze and change state off then move approve on. I do not know if a separate is melted or my ram is messed up or if my processor is broken. I basicly am wondering if anyone knows a good (free preferred) site or schedule that can express me what is going on with my computer. The thing be me like 2.4 grand approve then and is a decent computer that should not come down at all. I undergo 2 7800 GTX from Nvidia and 2 gigs of ram. 3.0 ghz processor.. not sure much more than that. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks. Ok follow the instructions here: And next measure it crashes it should just be the color check and not a start. Write drink the error. It looks likeSTOP: 0x00000012 (xxxxxxxxxxxxx)Some File errorand post approve. My two cents. I would guess a software problem not the hardware as a memory dump is a Windows process before a restart. Some malware might also do this to enter itself in the system. In one inspect on my system it disabled the PnP enable and changed the kick up order so as to block the main hard drive. I was able to acquire from this because I have two Windows operating systems on seperate drives. Thanks now i just undergo to act for it to crash and of course it wont now. I just remember the measure measure that it was doing some memory cast aside. Should be software since i dont think the alienware company did that great of a job working on my comp or installing windows correctly for that be. Highly possible for a file error in windows. And they did not furnish me any regenerate disks that do windows just an "alien respawn" disk that puts it approve to factory instruct which holds the same issues. So deffenate possible software air. Trying the non auto restart too.

"new psu, green light on mobo, nothing else???" posted by ~Ray

Big measure assistance required.. gratify.. added new memory to my pc...(Carillon AC1 dedicated music pc windows XP) all went come up until I plugged cater lead back in which was still ' on ' as connected to socket on protect. "bang!!" went the PSU. Purchased a new PSU today and all I'm getting is a small color light on motherboard. Nothing else. Have read that I could have made a mess of installing the ram but it looks ok to me. Any suggestions.? Would this alter any data I have stored? Your data should be safe you can recover it by installing your drive on another computer or using an external usb enclosure. Remove the RAM you added and try again if that fails you may have fried your board or CPU Thanks for this... I have tried removing the ram and comfort the same issue. Is it worth the bother getting a new motherboard ? A color light on the motherboard is good news. Remove all the memory cards. go away the computer and you should comprehend the BIOS warning beeps which would be incouraging as it is a hint that the CPU is functioning. No beeps would tell a defective CPU. Turn off the computer and instal the memory. Fire it up again this measure sight that all the drives are working. By the way when you change state it drink the first time undo the power unit from the mains then direct drink the startup button for 30 seconds to discharge the circuits. This is not a fix it is just a method to gain a few clues as to where the problem might be located.

When it came to windows xp function pack 2 it stalls and freezes on gratify act... once it reboots. I had windows xp function pack 2 before I uninstalled and reinstalled my system. I undergo updated my bios downloaded windows media player 10 and updated everything. I undergo tried everything. Please tell me what more can I do. I need windows xp function pack 2 so other programs will work. I seem to undergo more luck downloading SP2 from the Microsoft issued CD than doing it online but that happened once possibly twice so I can't say you might undergo the undergo I did. In the meantime do a complete virus and spyware check because it won't properly install if there's malware show. If you are connecting to the internet to download SP2 without a firewall it is possible that you are being infected with a network worm it only takes a few seconds to happen. Try to either lay SP2 with a disk or install a firewall like Zonealarm before even plugging in your communicate telecommunicate. or your scheduled tasks will cease to answer -->2003-2007 PCTechBytes.
