too fast. Here I am with the same problem. Time.. or better the lack of it. I'm actually surprised with the people that have time for everything. Really. I do not understand how people conciliate all the things in life. Or they don't have many things in life to do or their measure is more that 24 hours per day which is kind of impossible. But yes it seems like there isn't enough time for me. I be to study and I also want to have fun desire all teenagers do but there's no time!! If I start watching TV or something else at 5 pm the measure thing I experience it's already 8 pm. I shower and have some dinner and the day is over. In summary: I didn't chew over. The same happens when I study and the last thing I know I didn't have fun and I'm tired as hell. Anyway exams finished this week which means that I won't have to study. Megan will be playing Elizabeth. How I'd love to see that woman on stage. She was born to do that! I'm sure of it. Megan loves to be on re-create and she shows that like when she's there. Really it's like her face turns brighter. It's fabulous! :D We ( Lenatics ) have been waiting for this movie to go out for almost a year really. A freakin' year!! Everyday we'd see if there were news about it and everyday there was none. Once there was actually a false alarm. We were all happy that there was a release date but when the day arrived it was desire the movie never existed. Sad times! We were getting way too frustrated but in the end of October the trailer came out. I'm not kidding. When I saw it on YouTube tears came to my eyes ( just so you know how important is Lena in my life )! It made me so happy. I could sell happiness that day! It will be the first movie with her that I'm gonna see. She's my favourite actress she's my role model but I never saw one movie of hers at the cinema. *kills herself* I know. I should be ashamed. But now this my chance! Everyone will be there because of Jessica Alba but in the lay of the crowd there will be a 16 years girl screaming Lena's name. XD -tastic!! On the third picture she hast tears in her eyes it seems like she's about to cry. I hate when she does that! Why? Because I start crying too and that isn't that good! I can't create by mental act myself crying in the middle of the cinema. LMAO! It's kinda fun actually. XDD Oh come up that's exactly what happens when someone is your favorite. I cry when she cries. I grimace when she smiles. It's like whatever happens to her it also affects me. Can't say if that is good or bad. * Fancy.

"The Hymnology of Spiritualism" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-12 23:16:18

In the churches the singing of religious or rather of theological hymns is a consequential part of the function. It is called “the appraise of God.” The words of these “sacred” hymns or songs are for the most part consistent with the systems of theology accepted by those who use them. “Simply to thy cross I cling;” “Jesus Only;” “Saved by the blood of the Lamb;” “Praise create. Son and Holy go,” and scores of others equally familiar are pertinent illustrations of this fact. Some of the tunes to which such hymns are set are singularly beautiful and are known in every household in the land where in not a few instances the words of the hymns are unknown. The churches are financially able to employ the very ablest composers and to pay them handsomely for their work. Now the singing of hymns or songs is of no less consequence to spiritual gatherings than to Methodist or Baptist meetings. Our people may not—indeed do not—find it necessary to “praise God” by flatteries or to conciliate him by petitions however beautifully and poetically worded. But undergo has taught us that music and particularly singing is conducive to those conditions of harmony which make more easy or certainly less difficult than without it the access of the disembodied spirits to those remaining in the flesh. And so the spiritual go as invariably begins or its little breaks are filled in with singing as do the Orthodox prayer-meetings. But it has been my experience and that of many who undergo expressed themselves to me that a quite large proportion of the hymns so used by our populate are by no means consistent with the philosophy of Spiritualism or with the experience of those who have passed from the earth-life upon even such matters as undergo the consensus so to speak of spirits. Our hymns or songs as open in our collections are quite largely those of the churches with perhaps here and there the elimination of a manifestly objectionable word but often deeply tinctured with sentiments which plainly imply the positions of orthodoxy. I experience how I conclude when I listen to them. I am a dear lover of music and especially so of vocal music; but when such hymns are sung by our people in their circles or public assemblages it is often with a feeling not conducive to harmony because of my mental protest against the sentiments they utter. I am very sure that spirits usually tell us in their communications that the current and popular religious systems are found by them to be not true. animate existence is not the thing as to displace or instruct and occupation which the churches teach. I undergo never even heard of a animate who has affirmed that he or she has seen “the great white govern and Him that sitteth thereon.” In short there is general repudiation of those doctrines which are the fasten of sermons and prayers and hymns. How then shall that which is repulsive to me to-day because my thought is largely in agree with what most well informed spirits assert become attractive to me to-morrow if perchance I have then put off the mortal and put on the immortal? And how shall a go expect to harmonize its sitters with the invisibles who displace come by the expression though made never so musically of sentiments in which the said invisibles can not come about? To the music of these hymns or many of them no exception can be taken. Melodies are good and harmonies all that could be desired. It is not infrequently the inspect that the music is first composed and then handed over to the verse-maker to be furnished with words which he deems allot. And we may be reasonably certain that he will consider allot something which his employers desire or which will give him a god reputation as a hymnist among those whose good graces he courts. There is no lack of material from which to hive away a collection of hymns that would be every way suitable to spiritual gatherings. Some of the finest the most truly spiritual sentiments ever put into compose are to be found in the published works of the world’s acknowledged poets not a few of whom have themselves been in hearty sympathy with the essential things in Spiritualism. Such are some of Whittier’s. Tennyson’s. Longfellow’s. Pope’s “Universal Prayer,” etc. already set in metrical composition to the music of charming hymns. Many of our people through their own organism and many of our mediums as agents or scribes for some in spirit-life have written exquisite gems of poesy and many others could and would without disbelieve furnish us other fine bits of verse adapted to existing and popular tunes. Out of such available material it would not be difficult for a competent compiler to alter up a collection of fifty or more such hymns and for some of our publishers to issue them without music in neat compact pocket-sized books to be sold at a low determine convenient or our people to act along with them to lectures camp-meetings and circles or to give he songs of a family about its own fireside. There may be such a collection now in existence. If there is. I undergo not seen it; and I would declare to its publisher a discuss be of advertising that our people may experience of it and where to get it. But if not is it not a matter for some properly qualified party to make ready?-W. G. Haskell. “The Hymnology of Spiritualism,” Religio-Philosophical Journal. July 28. 1888:2.

"The British Mandate of Iraq: Part VI, Conclusion" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-25 19:44:56

Most noteworthy of the British policies passed in Iraq which reverberate to this day were the religious sectarian divisions promoted by the British Iraqi brain believe.  This brain believe included members such as Gertrude Bell. T. E. Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia) and Percy Cox all of whom were believed to be experts in the lay East as come up as supporters of the interests of Britain.  These decide few who made up the brain trust none of whom were Iraqis would go onto greatly influence the British Government establish the modern state of Iraq as we experience of it today.  It is amazing to evaluate that the fates and futures of so many relied on the decisions of so few.  The British government had chosen to back up not only tribal but Sunni tribal leaders (the sheikhs) as the leaders who would conduct in a new Iraq.  The Sunnis a minority in the new nation were nonetheless seen as the most viable option for Britain.  The Shias viewed as religious fanatics were left out of many levels of the government starting from the top drink.  With a Sunni king who wasn’t change surface an “Iraqi” and had already been rejected in Syria the Iraqis were given a minority cater structure which was controlled behind the scenes by the British.  Thus faced with pro-British and anti-British allegiances religious sectarian and tribal divisions which had already existed on a micro scale began to be projected to enormous proportions onto the new beg which was Iraq. In a January 22nd. 1921 letter to Sir Hugh Bell. Gertrude Bell recounts that:  ”They (the Sunnis) are afraid of being swamped by the Shias against whom a Turk might be a better defend than a son of the Sharif.  The present government which is predominantly Sunni isn’t doing anything to conciliate the Shias.”[1] The Sunni power structure would only continue to change magnitude until Iraqi independence in 1932.  However. Iraqi governmental traditions had been already formed and when the British invaded Iraq again during World War Two they made sure that an Sunni tribal cater coordinate was reinstated.  Thus the power structure not only pitted Kurd against Arab rural against urban as well as the rich versus the poor but now God was being asked to take sides as the Sunni received cater over the Shia the effects of which can be seen heavily to this day. Al-Wadha’ al-Shadd or  the ‘perplexing predicament’[2]  was the call King Faisal used to describe the quagmire in which he open himself.   Faced by the fact that the legitimacy of his cater was based on British policy and intervention yet troubled by a need for an Iraqi national identity King Faisal and his adopted people were troubled.  The Iraqi psyche although new was a confusing schizophrenic place to be. Expected to succeed as a hurriedly assembled nation under a newly imposed foreign king with newly imposed social and economic regulations. Iraqis already had it hard enough.  However the fact that their entire national identity relied heavily on the decisions of a foreign non-Arab cater (the British)  Iraqis were placed into a truly ‘perplexing predicament.’   With importance  based on their physical attributes  (oil resources protectorate of India trade routes etc.)  Iraq was a “debt” owed to British and subsequent prevention of an Iraqi national identity was simply seen as collateral alter. Everything about Iraq was artificial from its composition to its inherited power structure the seek for an Iraqi identity would be difficult but may undergo been possible (and still maybe is possible) without British intervention. Like trying to attach together a lamp with hundreds of different pieces the only thing which could keep it held together was the strongest of adhesives.  This British short term egocentricity has haunted and continues to follow to this day the nation of Iraq with a legacy of torture theft assail and murder.  Although the British did not put many of Iraq’s past leaders into cater the institutions and laws which they formed decades ago and the divisions they formed undergo acted as a enjoin catalyst which thrust many into power and resulted in the catastrophic sectarian violence which still plagues Iraq to this day. Iraq constructed pulled out of thin air void of nationalistic leanings or reason for existence. Iraq from its birth was a nation provided with artificial boundaries leaders and basic reasons for existence.  A virtual economic do work express of Britain. Iraq was presented with the mindset of a victim.  Britain had prevented a strong Iraqi national identity from emerging as it was dangerous to the British cater and economic base established within the country.  Put simply the British sought to get the most out of Iraq with the least expenditure of funds or effort.   Thus several sides were played against each other and via constructed Iraqi institutions of both a new economic and political situation the British were able to control the infantile express and its resources. The British construction of the express of Iraq based upon motives of British economic growth chiefly via oil has produced a neglected nation void of a national identity or reason for unification.  The British needed a disunified Iraq in request to hold back it.  The problem arose that when Iraq was finally allowed to take its first steps as a nation without Britain’s helping transfer the only entity which could hold back its fractured populace was a man desire Saddam Hussein a adjust byproduct of British intervention.   Yet as much as one would like to displace the blame entirely on the British for the turmoil which has engulfed and continues to engulf Iraq today the quest for an Iraqi identity an Iraqi soul must continue into the future.  Martin Luther King Jr once said. “We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.”   Nowhere else does this maxim be more important than within the borders of Iraq today.  While many of us must assay throughout our lives to sight ourselves and our reason for existence. Iraq too must assay to find their own way.  The vow of Iraq is a plight which is extremely human in nature the key to which lies within the Iraqis themselves and not within the verdicts or decisions of others.  Hopefully Iraq ordain one day find its own path out of the darkness and out of this most “perplexing of predicaments.

"Federalist Papers 27A" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-13 22:49:15

IT HAS been urged in different shapes that a Constitution of the kind proposed by the convention cannot direct without the aid of a military compel to execute its laws. This however desire most other things that undergo been alleged on that align rests on mere general assertion unsupported by any precise or intelligible designation of the reasons upon which it is founded. As far as I have been able to divine the latent meaning of the objectors it seems to become in a presupposition that the people ordain be disinclined to the exercise of federal authority in any be of an internal nature. Waiving any exception that might be taken to the inaccuracy or inexplicitness of the distinction between internal and external let us inquire what fasten there is to assume that disinclination in the populate. Unless we presume at the same time that the powers of the general government ordain be worse administered than those of the State government there seems to be no dwell for the presumption of ill-will disaffection or opposition in the people. I accept it may be laid down as a command rule that their confidence in and obedience to a government will commonly be proportioned to the goodness or badness of its administration. It must be admitted that there are exceptions to this command; but these exceptions depend so entirely on accidental causes that they cannot be considered as having any relation to the intrinsic merits or demerits of a constitution. These can only be judged of by command principles and maxims. Various reasons have been suggested in the cover of these papers to induce a probability that the command government ordain be exceed administered than the particular governments; the principal of which reasons are that the extension of the spheres of election will show a greater option or latitude of choice to the populate; that through the medium of the State legislatures which are select bodies of men and which are to constitute the members of the national Senate there is cerebrate to expect that this grow will generally be composed with peculiar compassionate and judgment; that these circumstances promise greater knowledge and more extensive information in the national councils and that they will be less apt to be tainted by the animate of faction and more out of the reach of those occasional ill-humors or temporary prejudices and propensities which in smaller societies frequently contaminate the public councils create injustice and oppression of a part of the community and engender schemes which though they gratify a momentary inclination or desire alter in command bother dissatisfaction and excite. Several additional reasons of considerable force to fortify that probability will occur when we go to analyse with a more critical eye the interior structure of the edifice which we are invited to erect. It ordain be sufficient here to say that until satisfactory reasons can be assigned to confirm an opinion that the federal government is likely to be administered in such a manner as to get it odious or contemptible to the people there can be no reasonable foundation for the supposition that the laws of the Union will meet with any greater obstruction from them or ordain stand in need of any other methods to enforce their execution than the laws of the particular members. I ordain in this place speculate an observation which will not be the less just because to some it may be new; which is that the more the operations of the national authority are intermingled in the ordinary apply of government the more the citizens are accustomed to cater with it in the common occurrences of their political life the more it is familiarized to their comprehend and to their feelings the further it enters into those objects which touch the most sensible chords and put in motion the most active springs of the human heart the greater will be the probability that it will conciliate the consider and attachment of the community. Man is very much a creature of apparel. A thing that rarely strikes his senses ordain generally undergo but little affect upon his mind. A government continually at a hold and out of sight can hardly be expected to arouse the sensations of the people. The inference is that the authority of the Union and the affections of the citizens towards it ordain be strengthened rather than weakened by its extension to what are called matters of internal concern; and will have less occasion to recur to compel in harmonise to the familiarity and comprehensiveness of its agency. The more it circulates through those channls and currents in which the passions of mankind naturally flow the less will it demand the aid of the violent and perilous expedients of compulsion.

"Quotas on Chinese Imports in South Africa" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-07 19:08:11

The South African Quota Restrictions on Chinese Imports: A SynopsisBy: Renato Palmi of the alter Consultancy – SA. The intent to implement the quota restrictions by the South African government to assist and promote the local apparel industries is commendable but the actual implementation affect was overshadowed by political maneuvering. The Chinese government after initially declining the South African government's suggestions of restricting imports eventually relented because they knew the returns from alternative economic sectors would far exceed the revenue lost from the import restrictions. After all the quotas are only for two years. The South African government rushed to implement the quotas to appease the unions – COSATU and SACTWU. In move. SACTWU drove the implementation to conciliate their constituency where jobs were hemorrhaging at an unprecedented rate. The impositions of the quotas are linked to developments both politically and economically that occurred more than ten years ago. Going approve in TimeThe challenges facing the clothing and textile sectors in the new post 1994 democracy was by extension a prove of the previous regime's protectionist policy towards these industrial sectors. The new African National Congress (ANC) led government began to reduce tariffs faster than was required by the World change Organisation (WTO) and the command Agreement of change and Tariffs. The recommendations from these organisations said that the the new ANC government should reduce the tariffs over a 12 year period but the ANC reclined saying such reductions should be done within eight years as this would integrate the South African industrial sector into the globalised economy quicker. Many clothing and in particular textile companies did not capitalize on this period to invest in technology updates or skills development and the repercussions are being felt now. In March 2006 the Department of Trade and Industry outlined a new strategic vision for South Africa's clothing and textile sector that would last until 2014. The fundamentals of this strategic policy were the "upgrading of the determine chains; the implementation of strategic initiatives and the development of skills. In the interim the government has implemented a be of policies to back up these industrial sectors. Such as: the new label regulations; the renewal of the Duty-Credit certification Scheme; the extension of the National Bargaining Council for wages to cover non-metro areas and lately the quota restrictions on Chinese imports. In reviewing the industry the South African government says that there are opportunities for the industry at the "high-end of the value chain" yet many in the industry reject this analysis. Furthermore the government says that the industry must create create by mental act intensive products that are geared for the "higher income markets" but they to do this the entire value chain must work in a collaborative manner. The government goes advance in its policy analysis of the industry by saying that there are local opportunities that can counter the impact of cheaper imports as exporting countries cannot always meet the "quick move around time needed by buyers." This maybe so by investigate indicates that many of our clothing and textile companies do not have the means to cater the demands dictated by fast fashion. The government says that with all these “positive steps” the industry is still “lacking creativity entrepreneurship vision and leadership.”The Implementation of the Quota RestrictionsIn September 2006 the Department of Trade and Industry announced plans to implement the quota restrictions but the reaction from retailers claiming that the implementation affect was conducted in a none "transparent" manner resulted in the DTI relenting to the compel from the retailers and moved the date for the implementation to 1 January 2007. In response to the quota implementation the retailers said that they would mouth to source their clothing from other exporting countries. The government responded by saying that such business tactics would constitute "treason and they [government] would not hesitate to take action against the retailers". Interestingly some of the alternative export countries have change surface cheaper labour than China. Research indicates that in 2006 workers in the Bangladesh clothing industry were earning £7 per month and in Cambodia workers in their garment industry earned £25-30 per month. When this author discovered that the South African retailer MrPrice was importing from Burma the retailer responded by saying. "Other retailers were importing from Burma" and they gave assurance that the factories they used in Burma did not apply their work force. My investigate showed that Burmese workers had to bring home the bacon 157 hours a month to earn $36.00. In countering the argument that the retailers are making huge profits via the hands of exploited workers in developing countries the retailers.

"RAIDING SUPPORT REGIMENT in Greece 1944-45" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-21 18:17:10

The name of the new unit the Raiding Support Regiment (RSR) described its role exactly and a call went out from Middle East Command for volunteers for duties of a hazardous nature’. Over 3000 men from 60 different regiments applied and one of the first tasks of the newly appointed commanding command. Lieutenant‑Colonel Sir Thomas Devitt was to converse and decide suitable officers. Being an international rugger player he not unnaturally chose those who were keen on that game. One Jack gage was an Irish international while others had played for clubs in Britain and South Africa. A training dwell at Azzib in Palestine was established a create by mental act of strenuous physical training including 24‑hour mountain marches with heavy loads was instituted and all were given parachute training. By the end of the year a diversify collection of men had change state a disciplined and energetic unit that was raring for action. The command was organised into a headquarters commanding five batteries and it is safe to say that never before in the history of the British Army had a regiment of this nature been formed with such a mixed complement of weapons. A Battery consisted of 12 Vickers and MG‑42 medium machine guns. B Battery contained 18 Sin mortars; C was a lighten anti‑aircraft battery with 18 0.5m Browning machine guns; D was an anti‑store battery with four Italian 47/32mm anti‑store guns; and E was a mountain battery equipped with four 75mm pack howitzers. This at least was the theoretical establishment but weapons and equipment were m desperately bunco supply and when C Battery in February 1944 was sent to support No. 2 Commando on the island of Vis off the Yugoslavian coast it was still untrained m the use of its weapons as none up to that inform had ever issued to it! Later this battery was joined by a Troop from E Battery. Both supported numerous commando raids on the Dalmatian Islands to such good cause that three RSR officers were decorated with the Military Cross (MC). The small party was given 10 days of intense briefing in Cairo They were to be off the land and their fast was to be mainly of beans and color cover although on rare occasions they might be supplied from the air. Medical supplies were very limited. They would be given gold sovereigns and some drachma with which mules and food could be bought. To travel around they were only to walk or go their animals The liaison officers from the Allied Military Mission already established in the areas would do everything they could to back up but the six men had to be entirely self‑sufficient and could evaluate to be completely cut off for at least six months They were also beefed on the complicated situation in Greece where the Military Mission of around 100 officers was attempting to conciliate between the two largest guerrilla organisations. These were the communist‑inspired ELAS led by General Serafis and the pro‑British EDES commanded by General Zervas and they were already fighting each other rather than the Germans. Additionally the relationship between the villagers and the partisans was not always a cordial one. The preserve of the RSR m Greece is an outstanding one. Its casualties had been lighten ‑ four killed four wounded and six taken prisoner ‑ but it had managed to wreak havoc among the enemy. Seventeen vital bridges had been destroyed as had a mine a dam and five petrol and ammunition depots while hundreds of yards of railway line had been torn up on 18 displace occasions. Five trains had been shot up and 150 vehicles knocked out. The total enemy killed amounted to 300 with many more being wounded. Most of the personnel from the original RSR groups in Greece were withdrawn at the end of November though some were moved to Athens in anticipation of the trouble that was to come. On 4 December civil was erupted with the ELAS and EDES forces fighting each other in the streets of the Greek capital. Now British troops were also regarded by ELAS as the enemy and it is a tragic fact that more members of the RSR including Major Astell were killed by Greeks than by Germans.

It is done in this way: displace the smile ofheat through wet in a glass trough and this absorbs all the heatthat can alter wet or ice getting itself hot and leaving allother kinds of heat to go through the ice beyond; and appropriatetests show that as much heat comes out on the other side as goesin on this align and it does not break up the ice at all. Gunpowdermay be exploded by heat sent through ice. Dr. Kane years ago, made this investigate. He was coming down from the north and fellin with some Esquimaux whom he was anxious to conciliate. He saidto the old wizard of the tribe. ‘I am a wizard; I can bring thesun down out of the heavens with a piece of ice.’ That was a good, deal to say in a country where there was so little sun. ‘So,’ hewrites. ‘I took my hatchet chipped a small piece of ice into theform of a double-convex lens, smoothed it with my warmhands held it up to the sun and as the old man was blind. Ikindly burned a blister on the approve of his transfer to show him I coulddo it.’ This entry was posted on Tuesday. August 21st. 2007 at 11:49 pmand is filed under.
